On the first sight, our planning for the day is pretty little. Only two things to do.
First: The Warner Bros. Studio tour, for the second time :3
As we did the first tour on a Sunday, where not many people were working on the lot, so we could see many sets and stages, we decided to do another one on a weekday.
So we arrived at the VIP tour entrance at 8am. Our tour was to start one hour later.
So we got our final tickets at the front desk And then waited in the shop. We took some pictures of the stuff, like some Harry Potter newspapers
And so on. We also did the merchandise shopping on that day.
My dad bought some Big Bang Theory shirts for him and my brother, for my mom we bought a 'Ellen DeGeneres' shirt (my mom's name is Ellen, so... hehe :3) and a huge Ellen cup. I bought an Ellen jacket *it is so fluffy ^_^* a shirt from Warner Bros. with 'Actor' on it and Postcards for like $30.
I also tried to get the wifi connection there, but my phone was being an a**... So I couldn't tell Jimmy that I was there again, because we actually wanted to meet. ( I had something for him, which I forgot to give him on Sunday. My bad :L)
So the tour began and you already saw at the gate, that the lot was way more busy than on sunday. Obviously.
This time we really did not get to see that many stages or sets. In fact only one besides the Friends set. But on the other side we got to see a lot more on the lot itself :)
Like these nicely parked trucks...
A house at which's front was a lot of things they needed for shooting ...
A little park, which you might know (It is not the one infront of the court house; it was also in The Big Bang Theory)
And we drove by the The Mentalist office another time ;) But this time our guide didn't stop the car unfortunatly...
we went through the streets among the stages
and we entered the Warner Bros Design Studio :)
There we got to see sets of The Big Bang Theory, like here, Howard's Dining Room ;) Our guide explained a lot of interesting things! More than the other one did on Sunday!
Later on we saw more of the busy lot
And we also crossed ways with another tour :) I bet most of you will recognize this really nice Fire station.... :D We passed the place with the pavillion, which was also used in Ghostwhisperer And we arrived in the street with the (yeah I guess he said that) western houses :) There were so many sqirrels hahaha they were so cute :3 And our guide made jokes like they are all professional squirrels, payed to be on the lot ;)
We also got to enter one of the houses
Here he showed us that they really don't use a single real brick in the whole studios!
On the inside, the door seemed kinda famailiar,
he explaind a lot of things about the steps, which were built extra small, so the actors and actresses appear bigger, or extra small furniture in the kitchen for the same reason.
On the otherside of the house we went back outside, and I could swear... I have seen that one before! ;)
It was so so interesting walking through all those on lot sets and to learn how they trick on movies :)
Back on the cart, we drove to the decoration office, where people can borrow furniture, lamps, pictures, glasses, sofas (not Jane's lol) and a bunch of other stuff for a lot of money per week ;)
Some old 'costumes' also.
He showed us, how easy and clean it can be, to have blood on the floor :)
Our last stop was the museum. (I wrote about that one already in day one ;) )
Sadly the tour was over quickly. But it was really worth it doing it twice! The tours were so different from each other. It was awesome!
it was about 11.15am as we left the Warner Bros. lot.
The second and last point on our schedule of this day, was waiting on a parking lot on the other side of the WB studios, next to the WB visitor center, on the opposite of the The Mentalist poster.
Yeah, it was a little more senseful than it sounds in the first place!
We had Stand-by tickets for a taping of The Big Bang Theory! Sadly there was neither cameras nor mobile phones allowed so I had to stow them in the car. (Therefore no more fotos for tuesday *sigh*)
So we were waiting on the parking lot, with like 20 other people at that time. The few benches were already occupied and there was no other way to have a at least a bit comfortable place, than sitting on the ground haha.
Next to the lot, in the garage, were a lot of benches and also a lot of people waiting for the Ellen DeGeneres show. They were pretty loud, and it appeared to me that they were kinda entertained by someone xD
At our lot it was just borring haha :L And more and more people arrived. Later on, as we got hungry, I went to some restaurant nearby, where I bought a pizza for my dad and me.
As I left that restaurant, I saw something that stopped me from moving for a while. Must have looked creepy. Me standing infront of that glass door, starring at it xD
But I couldn't help it! On the window was a small Red John Smiley Face! And next to it a big sticker with a cast photo, saying The Mentalist Season 4.
Until now I have no idea why they were there! But it was kinda nice ehehhe :D
After we finished the pizza, I finally had THE idea how I could contact Jimmy even without internet haha (I already asked at the gate btw but they couldn't help me. Meh)
So I went back to the car and did some calls. Yup I swear, Ally is awesome :3 Because as I unlocked my phone I saw that Ally already contacted me to tell me that Jimmy wanted to meet with me! So I told her that we were going to stay at that lot for at least 2 more hours (until 4.30pm lol) and so our lovely Ally arranged another meeting with our great Jimmy Gadd! :) Like half an hour later I met him at the traffic light, on the opposite of the The Mentalist poster.
I finally gave him the little gift I had for him and thanked him again for everything and we talked a little, also told him that he just needed to let me know whenever he comes to munich :)
(Let me take this moment to appreaciate Jimmy's kindness and how nice and lovely and sweet and awesome he just is!!! THANK YOU!)
Well, we had to say goodbye after some time. Sadly.
But the waiting time was already over :3
After a while, a security lady came and gave us numbers and stamps on our hands and like half an hour later, they alreay asked the first 10 stand-by guests to come with them! (We were numbers 18 and 19 ^_^)
And not long after we were also walking through gate 2 on the WB lot :3 Yeah. And guess what just drove by as we had entered the lot? Right! A big white truck with a The Mentalist poster on it!!!! I was so excited and so mad because, as already said, we had no cameras with us -.-
Anyway!
We walked through the lot and on the back of the Court House (They were freaking filming something at the court house but I couldn't see what >.<), was the stage entry of The Big Bang Theor!
We had do go through some security check, where they took everything like stuff you wanna get signed and phones etc. They took my The Mentalist pilot script -.- They said: we know, it's from another show but we have to take it anyway. lol
As we were inside, a guy placed us in the last row, pretty much in the mid part. yay :3
The show sarted with showing us an unaired episode :3 Muhihihi it was great! I won't tell anything about content...
They filmed every scene twice and sometimes some pic ups (means parts of a scene) and sometimes with different texts! It was hilarious! Between shooting and changing, there was some entertainer, who led us through the evening with games and stuff. It was quite funny (got annoying in the end though xD) before they shot the last scene, the staff had pizza and a bottle of water for everyone! (the pizza was not even close to being warm but hey, it was great!)
The taping was over at about 10pm!I can tell you! All the waiting was woth it! It was such a great experience and it was so funny :'D
As we left, I got my script back! THANK GOD.
We went back to the motel and went to bed quickly. We were really... well done for the day!
Stay tuned for blog entries of the next days! (lol)
Love,
Sabine xx
